Anti‐amyloid beta and anti‐acetylcholinesterase activity of <i>Anaphalis neelgerriana leaves</i> extract in streptozotocin induced Alzheimer rats

Background Alzheimer is associated with neuronal degeneration, characterized by memory loss and altered behaviour. Many pathological conditions like increased amyloid β (Aβ) plaque formation, acetylcholinesterase neuroinflammation results in AD. Due to excess of reactive oxygen species (ROS) oxidative stress develops which overexpress Aß the neuron modifies cellular function thereby activates neurodegeneration. Method AD was induced streptozotocin i.e. STZ (3 mg/kg, ICV) day 1st 3rd after surgery. Surgery done on anesthetized rats help stereotaxic apparatus. were treated ethanolic extracts Anaphalis neelgerriana leaves (ANLE) (100 200 p.o.) for 14 days. Effects ANLE diseased assessed peptide (AchE) Result significantly (p<0.01) decreases Aβ1-40, Aβ1-42 peptides. Acetylcholinesterase level rat’s brain tissue reduced compared rats. Conclusion The present study reveals that produces Anti-Alzheimer’s effect decreasing Aβ protein tissue.
